Building resilience starts with empowering those who feed our communities. Based on that, KAALO has provided hands-on training sessions to 40 Agro-pastoralists from Ballay and Caanoyaskax under Garowe District. The training focused on sustainable farming and climate-smart practices.

โ
Climate-Smart Irrigation Systems & Management: Participants learned modern irrigation techniques to optimize water use and adapt their farming systems to the changing climate, ensuring productivity even during dry seasons.
โ
Organic Fertilizers & Pesticides: Farmers were introduced to eco-friendly methods of producing natural fertilizers and pest repellents using local trees and plant leaves. This not only protects crops naturally but also improves soil fertility and biodiversity.
โ
Provision of Agricultural Inputs: To support implementation, farmers received essential agricultural tools and resources to enhance productivity and sustainability in their fields.
Through this initiative, KAALO, in partnership with Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), is working hand-in-hand with local communities to build climate resilience, enhance food security, and promote sustainable, eco-friendly agriculture across Puntland.
