On 16 August 2026, KAALO Aid and Development, in collaboration with the Puntland Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, conducted a Stakeholder Engagement Event for the Climate Resilient Rural Communities (CRRC) Project.
The engagement brought together key stakeholders to strengthen coordination, share the project’s objectives and expected results, and identify opportunities for collective action to build stronger and more climate-resilient rural communities.
The event provided an important platform for stakeholders to discuss the challenges facing rural communities and the importance of coordinated efforts in addressing the impacts of climate change. By bringing together government institutions and other relevant stakeholders, the engagement aimed to strengthen collaboration and promote a shared understanding of the project’s priorities and intended outcomes.
The CRRC Project aims to support rural communities in responding to the impacts of climate change while strengthening several key areas, including:
- Sustainable livelihoods – supporting rural communities to develop and maintain livelihood opportunities that can withstand climate-related shocks.
- Food security – contributing to improved access to and availability of food through strengthened agricultural and livelihood systems.
- Climate-smart and sustainable agriculture – promoting agricultural approaches that support productivity while responding to changing climatic conditions.
- Community resilience – strengthening the capacity of communities to anticipate, respond to, and recover from climate-related challenges.
- Adaptation to climate-related challenges – supporting communities to identify and implement practical measures that enable them to better cope with the effects of climate change.
Strengthening partnerships and coordination among stakeholders is essential to achieving sustainable and lasting results. Through collective action, knowledge sharing, and collaboration with government and local communities, the project seeks to support rural communities in adapting to changing environmental conditions while improving their livelihoods and resilience.
The stakeholder engagement also reaffirmed the importance of locally led approaches in addressing climate challenges. By involving relevant institutions and stakeholders from the outset, the CRRC Project aims to ensure that interventions are better aligned with local priorities, community needs, and existing development efforts.
Through stronger partnerships and coordinated action, KAALO and its partners are working to help rural communities adapt, thrive, and build a more resilient future.
The project is funded by NORAD through The Development Fund of Norway and implemented by KAALO Aid and Development Organization.
