Under the support of GFFO/OXFAM, KAALO has jointly handed over to the Government and the local community a Borehole that KAALO implemented in Dalweyn village.

Implementing this Borehole has a great important for the community of Dalweyn village and its neighboring villages to have a sufficient source of water that can meet their water and irrigation needs, as well as help to increase their agricultural production. This issue takes the place of the water that the community formerly obtained from other distant locations.

In order to get pure water, this borehole was drilled to a depth of 210 meters, it has been outfitted with all facilities, including a Generator room, water kiosks, Animal trough, Trucking points, and a 200-barrel water tank.

The Borehole handover event was attended by delegations from KAALO, OXFAM, Puntland Ministry of Water, and Puntland Water Agency, as well as local communities.

In general, KAALO is continually willing to respond to the needs of the local communities to replace the obstacles that surround the life-saving and development process of the Somali communities, as well as to locate a sustainable water source.
