KAALO Empowers Youth with Transformative Skills

Earlier last month, a significant milestone was reached in the ongoing effort to strengthen civil society and foster sustainable development in Puntland. Kaalo Aid and Development, with crucial financial support from GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) through Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), successfully concluded an intensive five-day capacity-building workshop. This foundational training was specifically tailored for members of informal youth groups operating in and Garowe.

The workshop brought together a diverse cohort of young leaders, activists, and community organizers, all eager to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of critical social issues. The core curriculum was designed to be highly impactful, focusing on four interlinked pillars: gender-transformative approaches, leadership development, organizational development, and advocacy skills. This multi-faceted training aimed not merely to impart knowledge, but to foster a new mindset—one that actively challenges systemic inequalities and promotes inclusive, sustainable development from the grassroots level.
