KAALO Aid & Development Organization successfully wrapped up a pivotal three-day training event in Garowe, Puntland, centered on the Nexus Environmental Assessment Tool (NEAT+). This crucial capacity-building initiative, hosted by KAALO and expertly facilitated by a technical expert from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) under the BRCiS consortium, represents a significant step forward for the region’s humanitarian efforts.
The training welcomed a diverse group of 37 participants, comprising dedicated representatives from humanitarian organizations and key government institutions. Beyond merely introducing a tool, the workshop aimed to foster stronger coordination across sectors and substantially enhance the technical skills of aid workers. By improving understanding and application of NEAT+, the participants are now better equipped to implement high-quality, environmentally-sensitive humanitarian responses in the WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), and Shelter sectors.
This effort ensures that essential aid delivery in Puntland is not only effective but also sustainable.
